Rose City Bestiary, pt. 1 of many.
So I’ve been a little bogged down and only recently started working on my commissions— apologies all! Hopefully you’ll agree they’ll be worth the wait. But for now here are two of them. I may flop back and forth between straight black and white and washes— I love the look of washes but am still learning how to do them! I need to find my sumi ink supplies again…...

Gardening from Jamie Oliver.
I don’t garden (though I sort of want to!), but I do like food, so more opportunities to practice drawing it is a-okay with me! Working with the lovely Adrienne Pitts again over at Jamie Magazine— not even the wrath of Eyjafjallajokull could stop us from getting some fun artwork together! (Seriously, bad timing when you’re working on deadlines. Shame on you, Volcano.) Anyhow,...
RIP, BC-03-M-02.
Here’s a strange but fun project for Maclean’s Magazine up in Canada— they run an obituary column, and their feature this week was about a Canadian lynx who traveled more than 2000 kilometers from Colorado to British Columbia before it passed away. Print giveaway results!
The results are in! Congratulations to Rand, Melissa, Kayela, and Jeremy— I’ll be emailing you shortly to get your addresses to mail the prints to!
Thanks to everyone for entering the giveaway and giving me such helpful opinions— it’s really helped me make some plans and goals. Keep your eyes peeled and hopefully one day these things will become a reality!

Every year they produce a 20x30” poster to be given to the participants of the race. Thanks to the Marathon for letting me participate in a fun piece of history and work in a much bigger scale than I usually get to!
The design was 20x30”— which is more...

Last month or so after reading some process from folks like Daniel Krall and Sam Bosma, and a lot of big projects that stressed me out I got fed up with my process and decided to streamline. Working on layers in analog with marker paper— roughed out sketch, and then under that is the linework and texture, and last is a linear outline of all the shapes that come together into my illustrations...
Hello May/MILF Culture.
This week I’ll be writing a lot— I just got back from a little trip to CT and am recharged and raring to work! Plus I have the okay to share some client work, which is excellent, because I’ve been sitting on a lot of work! I’m also planning to have a little giveaway, and ‘review’ one of the books I picked up on my trip- Linchpin by Seth Godin.
This little...
