A year ago today, I hopped a flight with dog in tow and moved from Phoenix to Portland. Desert to forest, hot to cool, dry to wet, suburb to city. It was the good kind of shock I needed in my life and it seems like so much has happened. I’ve done a solo show, started teaching, met so many good people (thank you Jonathan and Jason for being so welcoming right at the start— the transition would’ve been very different without you as good friends!), and gotten to work on some great projects. At the same time there’s so much I want to do, and I’m learning every day what that is.To add to the bounty, my very good pal Patrick just moved here too today; and I’m thrilled to see what this year has in store for him too. We’re aiming to collaborate. I’ve got a lot to do in my second year— I’m determined to get that started. Let’s keep making things awesome, Portland. You’ve been too good to me.
