Last month or so after reading some process from folks like Daniel Krall and Sam Bosma, and a lot of big projects that stressed me out I got fed up with my process and decided to streamline. Working on layers in analog with marker paper— roughed out sketch, and then under that is the linework and texture, and last is a linear outline of all the shapes that come together into my illustrations (used as a flatting/shape layer). Still looking complicated, but it shaves off 3+ hours of work per project so I can’t complain. I can’t show you the final for a couple of months, but you can play around in your head and wonder how it’ll look…
